Speaker 0 00:00:00 And Mary, what do you call it? Snacks combat to have a drink that has got the wine intervention inside for Capella <inaudible> hello everybody. I'm looking back to propel duel Speaker 1 00:00:28 Berry, and we are Speaker 0 00:00:30 A Cody single-player actual place with addition podcast. Speaker 1 00:00:36 Last time I compel dual for a Val sign had a very interesting day back in Velon tall, uh, packed full of really unpleasant information followed by an even more interesting night in the silent city where she encountered an archeological mass grave and a new acquaintance by the name of Arivale Enmar at the time before that Speaker 0 00:01:03 L sign, that successfully stopped a coup in the city of Lockem. Speaker 1 00:01:07 Yes, he did with not a drop of blood spilled by Diane and got his first big, went up the season. Speaker 0 00:01:14 Andy got his second big win of the season by having a romantic encounter with Elanora Ash thorn score, which he promptly made extremely awkward by telling her that he was okay if there were no emotional attachments to their encounter, because he assumed that she was engaged and then sending a message to his ex. And we're going to pick back up on the aftermath of that zooming in on the castle of one King Bertrand's silver tray, or more specifically the courtyard of that council, where Leo is having a conversation with one Mr. Sandstone, who promptly says you did what Speaker 1 00:02:09 Let's see. I get how in context it can sound bad, but you have to understand the thought process that I was going through at that time. Speaker 0 00:02:17 Of course, of course. Walk me through the thought process. Leo, draw me a map. Take me on this adventure. Speaker 1 00:02:23 Well, I mean, I just assumed that, you know, most people's marital relationships in high society works the way that I understood them, which is the political marriages happen. And sometimes para Moore's get involved and nobody really gives a shit. And then after that got shut down, I started thinking about things that I hadn't let myself think about in the last five years. And I started feeling really bad because you know, things with Soren didn't end so well. And I mean, I, I was with him for 40 years, Zed. I, I needed to know where we, he sighs very deeply. Okay. Why are you telling me this now? Well, because Eleanora hasn't answered my letter yet. Speaker 2 00:03:15 That's, you know, a sounding board to see, like if maybe I had messed something, Speaker 1 00:03:21 Which part do you think you messed up? The part where you told her that you assumed that, that she was engaged to someone else. So when you guys fucked or the part where you immediately went and tried to get into contact with your ex, which part of that Leo did you think was a bad idea that she made me took offense to. Somebody mentioned that my God showed up during pillow talk because that just sits down on the ground. Speaker 2 00:03:47 That was how I got the smell, because you know, you see things happen. We, we had a fun time and then my God showed up and it was like, Hey, I was really impressed with all the shit you did today. Leo, I want you to have some more spells. And one of those was a message that I can send to anyone anywhere in the world using only my brain, which is coolest fuck for the record. And I hadn't had the opportunity to clear up some loose ends in my life that I suddenly had the opportunity to do. And recent events for making me think about those loose ends. Oh, I fucked up Speaker 1 00:04:23 That is still just sitting on the ground, head in his hands. He says, yeah, yeah, you did. So anyway, Speaker 2 00:04:30 The response to the aforementioned message was nothing. So I think we can tack on my ex fiance to the list of people that apparently hate Speaker 1 00:04:38 Me now. Great, great. I Speaker 2 00:04:41 Get one win and three losses. This is awesome. Okay. Well, I'm going to go hit up the brunch bar and slam like three bloody Mary's. Cause that's what I need to get through my morning. And then I need to go do some shopping. So after that, we can reconvene on our next Speaker 1 00:04:57 That still with this ad, this ad says, what are you shopping for? Oh, well, Speaker 2 00:05:02 Related to the story I was telling you, I need to go get a diamond. Speaker 1 00:05:06 He sits bolt upright says, wait a minute. That is not the answer here. Hang on. Well, of course it's the answer. I don't think that's a great idea. Given the rest of the situation. Well, if I want to have the Speaker 2 00:05:21 Power to do anything, I'm going to need to get a diamond. Speaker 1 00:05:24 Well, you just got the resolution on what engagement. I really don't fit in gastric. Eleanor, what the hell are you talking about? What are you talking about? Speaker 2 00:05:36 You need to go buy a diamond. So in case you die, the next time we fight somebody, I can bring you back. It's an element in the spell that I just got Speaker 1 00:05:45 Does that it puts a hand up and then puts it back down and says, Oh, what did you think I was talking about? That's not important. Can I roll? Yeah, go ahead. And since I leveled up, I get plus seven to insight. Now that would be a 24 Zed, looks a little hurt, a little jealous perhaps, and then immediately shut that shit down and just like stands up and brushes dart off of his bad and says, I'm going to take a walk. And then you have gestures over the side. And he says, boom boy, watch it. Boom, boom boy, revamp. It was just the thing in the shadows. Imperceivable takes a step forward and waves and says hi, this day was already so weird. What the hell are you doing here also is the bird with him? Yes, sweetie. The skeletal. What little bird is on your shoulder as always? Speaker 1 00:06:54 Yeah. Leo looks really tense for a second, but then sees the burden goes, hi baby. Come here. The bird flies over. That's it? It has a horrible, horrible cold skull. Fred. Oh no. Leo is fawning over it. Hi baby. You're so cute. I love you. Anyway, bond. Boy, what the hell are you doing here? Vanna shifts awkwardly and says, well, it occurred to me that I have been living in a tower with two people for a company for my entire life. And I haven't really gotten out much. And also I still feel really bad about almost killing you that one time. So where are we going with this? Talk to me tower. Yes. Shut in. Aha. Horrifying mushroom. Got it. Picking up on all of this so far. Why are you here? Where I live? Well, I have a certain skill set and he casts prestidigitation and makes a shimmer and the air as he waves his hand, that makes me sort of help you to have around. And I thought I could help you with your adventuring stuff. Okay. Well, skill set aside and I cast dramaturgy and make the ground rumble. You also have a pretty significant condition that makes me not want to have you in my house where I sleep. That's the other thing, I was hoping that I could maybe get a better handle on the mushroom stuff. And I think I'm not going to get that without experience out in the world. And he like very awkwardly puts a handout right in front of you. Leo looks down at his hand and blinks. Well, because the only time Speaker 2 00:08:56 I was very in shape, Kansas, when they're making a deal Speaker 1 00:08:59 And Leo goes, please explain the terms. Ravine, uncertainly lowers his hat a little bit. And he says, uh, I, at that share with you. We go places and you've helped me with the mushroom thing, I think. Speaker 2 00:09:19 But you help me out with my mission and also do your best not to Speaker 1 00:09:25 Kill me. Yeah. I wasn't planning on you're supposed to, I I'm told that when someone holds their hand out, you're supposed to shake it. Well, yes. Speaker 2 00:09:34 The terms of the deal had to be finalized and Leo shakes his hand. Okay. Speaker 1 00:09:39 He very awkwardly shaped her hand. It's a, not a good grip. Never done this before. Very clearly. All right. Speaker 2 00:09:46 You gonna hit up the bloody Mary station in the great hall. Do you want to come over? Speaker 1 00:09:50 What's a bloody Mary Boone boy, sweet Speaker 2 00:09:55 Summer child. Come with me. Oh God. We don't take some inside and get some turn on bloody Mary's and then both of them very tipsy. Go out to find set. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:10:04 And go shopping. You find that you go to one of the marketplaces around the city, right? It takes you most of the day to find a good jeweler. There is a sign above the door. It says Jared's Joel's every log in. And there's a little halfling man with a monocle, like a waistcoat polishing, some jewels. He has a name tag that says, Jared, Speaker 2 00:10:33 Somebody goes, hello, sir. I'm in the market for a diamond. Speaker 1 00:10:37 He looks at me. He says, Oh, congratulations. Oh no, who's in there with me. Is that in her bank? No. Okay. Congratulations for what? We'll talk about it later. Bone boy. Okay. I am in need of a pretty Speaker 2 00:10:56 Sizable diamonds that would be suitable for magical creatures. Speaker 1 00:11:03 Roll. Just a straight love check. Plus you're still passing on fire. He manages to route around and pull up a pretty sizable chunk of diamond. It's a little rough. It looks like it would probably have been split into smaller diamonds to make the most use out of the clear parts of it. Uh, will this do for your purposes? Speaker 2 00:11:28 And I'd like to just pick it up and do like maybe an Arconic check too. Speaker 1 00:11:31 Yeah. 15. It would probably be enough to Castro reverify with, remind me robotize a hundred cookies, Speaker 2 00:11:42 Diamond worth at least a hundred gold pieces. Yeah. And I also need gems that are worth at least 50 for a couple other spells that I just got. So Speaker 1 00:11:50 It looks like it's probably worth a hundred gold basis. We'll give you 75 for it. The hassling Speaker 0 00:11:57 Laughs in your face, you can roll Speaker 1 00:12:00 Persuasion nine. He says, well, the asking price is 110. You know what? Actually, I lied. We were trying to keep the wedding on the down-low weren't we boys we've had to pay the florist so much. They're totally highballing us. If we could do a hundred, I'd really appreciate it. Right. Guys. Throw another protection, roll with advantage that says, Oh Speaker 0 00:12:27 Yeah, the bride is just Speaker 1 00:12:29 Right and fantastic. Real ballbuster Leo chokes. But he did roll another dirty 20. Speaker 0 00:12:40 Okay. Jared, the drill, their smile. It says a hundred will do just fine. Speaker 1 00:12:46 Thank you so much. And Leo buys the diamond. Yep. Yep. That's all I needed. We can go back to the palace. All right. Oh, I do want to make it clear that even though Leo was asking for input from the peanut gallery on his latest actions, he has been saving a third level spell slot every day and has been sending us an expel to Soren every day. Not anything horrible. Just something to the tune of. Listen. I understand if you don't want to talk, but can you just tell me, so I think he probably goes and does that and then is going to go about whatever his agenda for the day is. Speaker 0 00:13:28 It has been a month since the events log them. So there is another council meeting rolling around. So one way or another Eleanor will have to have a conversation with you. Speaker 1 00:13:40 Where is the meeting? This time, Speaker 0 00:13:43 The same meds in sat. What would it be about in Sydney? Speaker 1 00:13:46 Well, so I shouldn't have much to do there. I've already secured their military support. Speaker 0 00:13:51 So you get packed to go to that, but can I take both of you to think the burden is going to stop you? He doesn't give a shit. Speaker 1 00:14:02 Okay, cool. I'm packing up, setting my carriage and we're going Speaker 0 00:14:06 Okay. So you got to start with the council meeting is going to be predictably boring. You think as you shovel in, you go to take your seat. And are you looking for Eleanor? Absolutely. Okay. She is sitting very close behind where her father sits. She appears to writing something in her lap, not really paying attention to most of the room. Speaker 1 00:14:32 Leo is going to point at her and do a message trip and say, you click it. Got an interesting project on your hands, Speaker 0 00:14:39 Elenora startles, and you watch her almost a lot or receipt. And then she looks up locks, eyes with you. And thanks back. Hi, don't do that Speaker 2 00:14:52 Seemed fine enough. Last time I did it. That was a different situation where really still looking at you because back to what she was doing, just sits there and watches her. Can I try to like roll inside to figure out what the fuck she's doing? Yeah, sure. She's writing something. I can't tell really. She seems kind of stressed about it. There's a lot of like stress pen motions. Oh, this is cool. Okay. What goes on in the council meeting? Does it concern Leo? Like does he need to speak on anything? You know, other than single-handedly stopping an entire military coup of a city with zero blood spills. There's very little discussion of Leah. Where's my metal. Speaker 2 00:15:46 Well, let me and Dawn chase her. It does bring up the word. She uses our, that unpleasant business through her teeth and the other funeral accounts kind of shift awkward. Like she got like kids with her, with the aforementioned unpleasantness lock will be unilaterally, pledging, military and political support to the graduate kosher. Yeah. In his efforts to security, we had this little fist bump just down below the level that people can see him willing me to look, Isaac Ash, thorn directly in the eyes, nods and then looks at the rest of them and says, thank you for your time. Leo does this dignify a little dance to himself. As he came, he will just sit there and take notes on the rest of the council meetings. He's starting to take a more vested interest in these people's politics because he's starting to realize this is how he helps himself. So yeah, he is going to sit there and take notes for the rest of the meeting about what's going on in all the cities Speaker 1 00:16:52 Roll insight. 24, as you're sitting there, Speaker 2 00:16:59 <inaudible> both seem a little on edge. You watch them like catch each other's eyes in the middle of the meeting. And like there's a creaking sound. You can't see what's happening, but there was a creaking sound from the Bosch. Speaker 1 00:17:15 Okay. Leo does put that in his notes. Speaker 2 00:17:19 I'm going to try to catch Eleanora on the way out of the council meeting, Speaker 1 00:17:23 They stopped for a recess. Ellen. All right. Speaker 2 00:17:26 Just try to shuffle out just quietly. Leo's just leaning up against the wall, outside the council chambers. Just waiting. Speaker 1 00:17:34 Hello Nora. Hi Leo. What's up? Speaker 2 00:17:39 Well, I mean, you've been taking me on a bar tour of toward dune for the last couple of months. I was figuring maybe we could keep up the tradition Speaker 1 00:17:48 Proper station for advantage 19. Her posture softens a little bit. She says sure. Yeah. That's I know a little place. You seem to know the best little places Eleanora takes you out into the city. Salud is interesting. It feels like a place that has kind of been put together. Willy-nilly the architecture's really weird. It looks like very experimental, pretty much everywhere. There'll be a tall, avant-garde kind of building next to like a squat Bavarian looking piece of architecture. It doesn't look like a cohesive city. It looks like a whole bunch of people had some really interesting ideas and just kind of decided to live next to each other. But Eleanor is having the time of her life. Oh yeah. Eleanora lost that when she was like visibly happy as she's walking through it. Speaker 2 00:18:49 I think actually Leo brings that up as they're walking just Oh wow. Well for someone who's into architecture, it seems like you're in hog heaven. Speaker 1 00:18:57 Eleanor laughed. She goes Stalin. What has historically been a very art is in a heavy area. And under a King bobbins grandfather, I believe there was a sort of revitalization of the architecture arts business, whatever you want to call it. And honestly, half the city got torn down because there was a big fire and there were a bunch of condemned buildings and there was a whole thing where the thieves Guild, but that's not important. Like King Edmund. Rosebrook just decided to fund arts projects. If you go down to the merchants district, there are all kinds of murals everywhere. Kind of worked into the actual function of the building. It's very strange. What was that? Like a city where we could do a bar girl and she got to like tuts on her. Your loved, we may not have time before the council goes back into session. My father, et cetera. Need to be back there. Speaker 2 00:19:54 Um, of course, uh, yeah. Yes, obviously, Speaker 1 00:19:59 But we can grab a drink. Oh, if I mentioned that ravine is here, what? Speaker 2 00:20:07 He, um, showed up an IRA right before we left. Apparently he wants to hang out with me. Speaker 1 00:20:16 Why did little squawk? I didn't mean, uh, I was going to say you don't seem to mind my company, princess. She like tights on air a little bit again because yeah. That's how about that? Drink? Shaped shucks. A bit flag and a bear just absolutely puts it away. She seems stressed. Couldn't help. But notice that, uh, my last Speaker 0 00:20:48 Letter, what unanswered, by the way, Leo says just sipping on his cocktail. Just checking that you got it. You know how unreliable the carrier Ravens can be. Eleanor is not looking at you. She is looking directly into her cup. She says, yeah, I got it. I mean, I hate to press the issue, but are we all right? Are we okay? Rollins say 17 grimaces. Very careful. I don't have a problem if you don't. I also don't have a problem just should be cautious. Right? Leo kind of blinks out outer and frowns. He's confused. Would you care to enlighten me as to why? If I need to be careful, I'd like to have some rationale behind it Eleanora. We can't keep doing this thing where you know, information that I need to know and you keep mollycoddling me. Speaker 0 00:22:14 I promise I can take it. My father thinks you dangerous and that I shouldn't be spending time with grown adults, but I don't, I don't want him to be upset all time, also a good daughter. And that is something I prioritize and something, I pride myself on trying to sort this out. So I just think we should be careful for now. Do you want space? Am I allowed to be honest and say that I'm sad about that he reaches across the table and grabs her hand. I understand trying to please a father who wants something much different than what you want. It's not like you've gotten a very bad impression of him. It's just, just trying to do what Speaker 1 00:23:46 Is best for everyone involved. And that means we put a pause on things, then that's what I'm wanting to do and not ending things. I'm just trying to not blow up my life Speaker 2 00:24:07 And you can save one dance for me at the gala without raising too much suspicion. I'd appreciate that very much princess. It was good to see you. Speaker 1 00:24:24 Okay. Speaker 2 00:24:25 Takes the hand that he's still holding and kisses or not bowls and puts it down and pays for their drinks and leaves. Speaker 1 00:24:30 Okay. Speaker 2 00:24:38 And very dejectedly I guess goes back to the palace. He's not feeling great. Speaker 1 00:24:45 The council is not back in session yet. Are they? Yeah, it'll be probably another 15 minutes Speaker 2 00:24:57 Walks back in through the doors of the palace. Leo's back in political Chessmaster mode. And he's trying to think of what he can do to achieve his goals here. So he's got bobbin support on lock because of what he observed earlier. I think he's going to go try to find Luba. Speaker 1 00:25:16 All right. Well, investigation, you find Lou mushed under Bo and the orcas women that you've observed keeping company with him. You don't know exactly what the situation is there. You find them kind of sitting together in the great hall of the castle. Is that what your majesty, if I may key, it raises eyebrows. Yes, of course. She doesn't have a watch, but he like looks up at the clock and says, I've got time. Speaker 2 00:25:55 Perfect. Leo puts himself in the nearest chair. He can, Speaker 1 00:25:59 He is not the one sitting with him. He says, I could get a minute. There's one of them of them heads off and the other size deeply, and then looks at you and then kisses him on the cheek and then follows the other. Speaker 2 00:26:15 I couldn't help, but notice a little bit earlier in the council meeting that there seemed to be a little bit of tension between you and kangaroos. Brooke, do you mind catching me up on what's going on there again, I'm horribly unfamiliar with the political machinations going on around the people that I need to be making a good impression on. So a favor would certainly help Speaker 1 00:26:36 Like sips at attacker of AOL and goes, I don't know that I would discuss the issue with anyone who is not a direct representative of King Rosebrook we have it well in hand really? Because it didn't seem that way. There is another one that was like creaking noises as his hand Titans on the handle of the Taggart and his hand. And he does the big toothy. Smile says it is what it is. Speaker 2 00:27:13 It didn't have to be. What if there was some sort of more equitable solution that I could help to broker an exchange for a favor, Speaker 1 00:27:27 Real persuasion, Speaker 2 00:27:30 18. Speaker 1 00:27:32 He liked scoffs and takes a sip and sets up conflicts older than you are a boy. How old do you think I am your majesty? He shakes his head. He says, take no offense. Conflict to that. I am too well. Yo pulls Speaker 2 00:27:48 Out a scroll, a pedigree and slaps it on the table Hundred and 30 years old. And I'm over this reductive shit. I could be your grandfather. Now, how about you? Tell me what's going on. Speaker 1 00:28:02 There's a track of land to the salvage East star, the base of the shadow zone. That has been a point of conflict between Eisenhower and stout would for as long as anyone can remember. And is this becoming a concern recently? There was a unfortunate incident with a ship outward a few weeks ago, and there may have been a bit of bloodshed. I do not take responsibility for it. Neither do any of this and have merchants, but King Rosebrook seems to believe that someone should take the blame for it. And I am of a different opinion. Speaker 2 00:28:50 I roll insight as to what he means by this. Like who's actually responsible. Speaker 1 00:28:55 Go ahead, Speaker 2 00:28:59 22. Speaker 1 00:29:01 He doesn't seem like he's taking responsibility for the situation. He seems a little bit tense, but you put that down to kind of the fact that was the conflict going on. Like from what you can gather, someone killed the crew of a, that would trading vessel and the wash place, things pretty close to the vest. He does not seem like he feels bad about it. Speaker 2 00:29:27 It takes all of this into consideration and then nods quietly to himself and says, and would having someone to take responsibility for this nasty business lead to an equitable Speaker 3 00:29:42 Resolution between staff wouldn't. I say Speaker 1 00:29:47 He leans back, crossing his arms says I don't see why I wouldn't Speaker 3 00:29:53 Would producing such a guilty party, potentially secure an Alliance down the road that I might be interested in. Speaker 1 00:30:07 He at smiles a little bit and he says, it might kid, Speaker 3 00:30:13 I'm going to need a little bit more of a solid answer than it might before I decided to take my particular brand of action. Your majesty, I believe you are well aware of the scope of my talents after being present for the end of the coup of lock them. Speaker 1 00:30:29 He raised the eyebrow. He says, well, whether things get resolved quickly and quietly sort of depends on King Rosebrook since he's the one making a fuss about all this. If you can talk to him, if we can get this to go away quietly, I don't see why it wouldn't be a grateful for that. Speaker 3 00:30:54 I believe, you know, as well as I do that, nothing in this particular kind of political arena ever disappears totally quietly. I need to be aware of what kind of collateral you're willing to concede and still call this a win or a draw. Speaker 1 00:31:08 He nods. He says that that particular tract of the shatter stone is culturally relevant. I would be much obliged if stat would stop sending people trouncing through it. It's my personal goal. Speaker 3 00:31:27 My goal, I will go have a talk with King Rosebrook. Thank you so much for your input, your majesty and Leo bows out of the conversation. And he goes to find bobbin as fast as, Speaker 1 00:31:38 But you find bobbin pouring over ledgers, Speaker 3 00:31:43 Takes a seat and lets him finish whatever he's doing before he looks up to acknowledge it. Speaker 1 00:31:47 He makes a couple more marks in a ledger, closes it, thanks Mark. And another one closes it. And then it looks up and says, ah, or about that, how can I help you? Hello? I haven't been, uh, occupied, but I wanted that love to have a conversation with a friend. Indeed. Speaker 3 00:32:05 I just couldn't help. But notice a little bit of tension between you and King Thunderbolt today. I just wanted a little bit of a catch-up you know, between friends, Speaker 1 00:32:17 His smile goes very stiff, uh, better. They skirmish with a ship. We sat down <inaudible> few weeks ago, handling some very expensive cargo that we were planning to send to say, well interesting. So what sort of resolution are you seeking Speaker 2 00:32:40 Here? You know, between friends? Could I maybe help you out? Speaker 1 00:32:43 He laughed and he said, unless you've got a couple thousand gold laying around it, Speaker 2 00:32:49 Frankly, your majesty, I would have to do things with King silver tree that I would be wholly uncomfortable with in order to come by that kind of coin. Speaker 1 00:32:59 It's a lot of thought it's, uh, nothing we can't handle. It just leaves us. That was a bit in the red, as far as the Aboriginal treasury goes for a while. Speaker 2 00:33:11 Well, what is your ideal solution to the problem? And maybe I can help move things along in that direction. Speaker 1 00:33:18 My ideal resolution is that I'm not out several thousand gold to King Shane stone. And that preferably when I try to resolve the situation by sending other boats, if I am ever able to get up the funds to do that, that it doesn't get sunk into the river. Okay. Speaker 2 00:33:41 All right. And I'm hearing everything you're saying. I have something that may sound a little bit crazy to put on the two. Speaker 1 00:33:51 I'm willing to accept crazy at this point. Speaker 2 00:33:54 Wonderful. I would love it. If you and King Thunderbird could meet me for dinner to talk over a little bit of a mutual agreement between the three of us that I think could Speaker 1 00:34:07 Yield very pleasant Speaker 2 00:34:09 Results in all directions. Speaker 1 00:34:11 It's executed properly. Since Rebecca Sherry says you had my attention. Now you have my interests. Speaker 2 00:34:20 I have your trust. Having proven myself available to your interests before. Yes. Speaker 1 00:34:26 Might not go quite that far, but we can talk. Speaker 2 00:34:30 Uh, yes. Um, let's meet and then I give them the Tavern that Eleanora took me to earlier. Speaker 1 00:34:36 Okay. We can go over the idea I have and hopefully resolve the situation Speaker 2 00:34:42 And time for the gala. I have somebody saving a spot on their dance. Speaker 1 00:34:48 He nods, he says, all right, you give me a time eight o'clock sure. Okay. Speaker 2 00:34:55 I go find sad and catch him up on all of this. Speaker 1 00:34:59 That was just eating popcorn while you're doing this. Speaker 2 00:35:04 I'm sure has no idea what's going on. Speaker 1 00:35:07 Ravine. I think asks a couple of questions early in the story, but then realizes how much context he doesn't ever and just sits quietly petting. Sweetie. Speaker 2 00:35:16 Two of these city States are on the brink of economic collapse and I think I have a way to make it play out to me. Speaker 1 00:35:22 Does that last, he says seems like you have a way to make everything play out in your favor, but go on. Speaker 2 00:35:30 I assume Silva goes on everything except Eleanora anyway. Speaker 1 00:35:34 No, don't want me to hear about it. Didn't go. Well. Um, the ha Speaker 2 00:35:40 So my idea is I pitch a narrative of economic support versus protection of investment versus restoration of culturally important Speaker 1 00:35:54 Land. It's a little Speaker 2 00:35:56 Bit of a complicated headship. It's going to be a little hard to do over dinner, but I think I have something in mind. I just need you there in case things go horribly, horribly wrong. And I need someone to break up a fight. Speaker 1 00:36:08 I got none of that except the last sentence, but I'm at at <inaudible>. I understand. Okay. But boy, you can come said puts his head in the sand and says, Oh, fuck Speaker 2 00:36:24 Is changing into very nice formal dinner robes. And then heading out to the place where he just went with Elanora earlier in the day to meet the other two Kings. I'm assuming that we have some kind of private salon. Speaker 1 00:36:39 Yeah. There's a private back room as you walk in Robin and the Bosch are already there and they are like both standing. And as you walk in, they both back off and go sit down, Speaker 2 00:36:52 Told that I have a very calming presence. It makes me very happy to know that's true. And Leo sits down at the table. North's Speaker 1 00:36:58 So loud. And then you all sit down at the table, you order some food, you get like two bites in for Bob. All right, whatever you got to pitch to us, go ahead. Now it extremely Speaker 2 00:37:12 For ice. And Hall's financial investment in a replacement shipment coming out. I will guarantee the safety of that shipment. And then we will all sit down and talk about the tract of land that is under scrutiny right now. Speaker 1 00:37:30 BOSH says, and where exactly is the money I'm supposed to contribute for this guy across from you, but Speaker 2 00:37:41 With a guarantee of economic return, that shipment is going to make it down the river, come hell or high water. And I personally will ensure this again, gentlemen, both of you have seen me in action. How many other people do you know that have stopped a hostile coup of a city state with not a drop of blood spilled? Speaker 1 00:38:06 Pardon? Like raises his hands and then across the table <inaudible> seems like the least you could do the wash stands hand on the table. And he says, I have told you already Rosebrook, Speaker 2 00:38:19 You know, just raises a hand that says gentlemen and his Holy symbol glows and he casts calm emotion. Yeah. Charisma saving throw. Once you say dizzy, I saved DCS 15. What'd you believe they both rolled a Speaker 0 00:38:36 Three? Hell yes. Okay. Shit. Okay. Yeah, they are chill. Now sits back down. Let's talk about this, like adults. How this the last one minute. Okay, Bob, and I understand you need economic return on this blue Bosch. If you will guarantee that economic return, I can negotiate that land coming back to you, Bob. And I understand that you need to have security of your boats coming out along the river for trade purposes. I can guarantee that if the two of you can agree to economically go in on a replacement shipment for the one that was lost. If you can get another shipment out between the two of you, I can guarantee it's safe delivery and economic return on it. That's a minute. Okay. You finished talking on the spell fades and Lou Bosch stands back up to what was that? That was clerical magic. Seeing as the two of you couldn't talk to each other like civilized adults. Imagine if I can put that kind of power to work in your favor, persuasion, Matt 20 stops, settles back on his heels a little bit. All right. You have kind of a thing. That's all I came here to do tonight. You found the bobbins replacement shipment. I guarantee that shipment safe delivery. And then all of us sit down and discuss potential land divisions. Yes, fine. Speaker 1 00:40:38 21 Speaker 0 00:40:41 That plus seven is hurting yet in that buddy. Speaker 1 00:40:45 Robin has said nothing. Since the spell faded himself, he looks like he is deciding something. And he says, all right, if you can guarantee that what I need to send to see when it gets there safely, then I'm on it. Everybody wins your majesty. He looks you in the eyes. And he says, everybody wants, do I believe him? Yes. You believe that he believes what he say, Speaker 0 00:41:15 Go back to the palace and try to find Elanora as quietly. And probably Speaker 1 00:41:20 As I possibly can, because that would have such a focus on like architecture and artistry Eleonora has hold up in the library. Do you find her just surrounded by books? And she looks up, she, you and she looks around and then she smiles. Hi. Hi. Um, would you believe that without you around for like two seconds, I may have gotten myself in way over my head, smile, fades. She says, why don't you do hopefully the best thing for everybody involved. And then he sits down and kind of explains everything that just went down. Eleanor. I kind of takes in the discussion. She nods herself. She has. I mean, I know what they're talking about. The cities have been fighting over it for centuries. I don't, I wouldn't even know how to begin untangling all of that, but if we can get people in a room to talk about it, there's an everybody wins, right. I guess. But there's also an everybody loses. Speaker 0 00:42:31 I need help getting this boat down the river. And tomorrow I understand what you're trying to do right now. And if you tell me, no, that's not going to change anything between the two of us. But if I could have your help, I freely like it advantage good thing. You gave me an advantage because she allowed a little bit. And she says this. She smiles probably because you have a various different sense about all of these sorts of things. And Leo is over the table and kisses her. She kissed me back. And as he started to pull away, she has a hand in your shirt. She very vitally says the gas chambers for an hour and a half. I can work with that Speaker 1 00:44:17 The next morning. I'm guessing this boat's headed out. Yeah, you are all gathered up by one of the attendance, forefingers, Brook and ushered to, to his private study. Because over the itinerary of the boat, he, uh, tells you where you're going to need to be stationed to make sure that it doesn't get accosted on that one stretch of land. You taking this information and he says, I'll be giving you a wagon that you can take down there. Of course. Wonderful. Okay. If you're good, I'm good. Well, hopefully we'll all meet at the party tonight and have an equitable solution for everybody. Hope it will. Okay. We're rolling out. Oh God. Let me roll a couple of things. Speaker 1 00:45:11 Okay. You roll out the Wagner's keeping pace with the ship. It's not a very fast moving river. It's pretty well. You head down to the stretch of land and it's subscribed to you. You post up there, nothing happens. It is almost eerily silent. Like nothing tries to go from the boat. Everything's fine. Okay. We keep rolling along with the boat. The boat passes that one contentious stretch of land. You follow it through a few more farms down in coast. It takes pretty much the entire day. We're going to follow it until it's out of ice and Hall's territory. It passes out of the contested. Lance. It is Humphrey. No incident. Fuck. Yeah. As you've agreed, he takes the most of the day to get there. And it will take you most of the day to get back. But you should be back in time for the gal you had, that the guy was in full swing. By the time you show up, Eleanora has been edgy for the last hour or so. As soon as the bike, I stopped jumps out, she says, I have to go, okay, well, will I see you later? Yeah, I, she smiles nervously. She says, I saved you a spot on my dad's card. All I can ask for. And she runs off and says, am I invited to the party? I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be. I'll see you down at the party again. One for team Leo. Yes. One for team. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:46:55 Well Leo goes back to his chambers. Doffs his armor and changes back into his very formal bedazzled robes. Yeah. That kind of a party. Uh, everybody just kinda milling around having a good time where our bobbing bobbin is leaning against a wall sedans. Also wine Lou Bosch is at the center of a verifiable crowd in the middle of the room with the two orange women that follow him everywhere. With few of his kids just got generally talking, laughing, having a good time. Okay. You'll be fine. Speaker 2 00:47:32 Very pleased to know that the Shipman made it out of town. Okay. Speaker 1 00:47:37 He grants. He says, that is exactly what I hoped to hear. Speaker 2 00:47:43 So now we need to talk about how much ground literally you're willing to give in this situation. I just preserved your kingdom's economic base. We need to talk about paying the Piper for that. Not to me, but to the person that made this pie. Speaker 1 00:48:04 I don't see how much I can do to move people in the area. There are farming pounds down there. There are a few good producers of, uh, grant, such things that it would be difficult to displace. Speaker 2 00:48:22 If we change where those people's economic contributions are going to, is it going to make or break? Speaker 1 00:48:29 I have to get something in return, but it's not that we can't live without. What about an Alliance? He settles against the wall and takes it from his mind. It says, elaborate. Speaker 2 00:48:45 What if we can bury the hatchet on this once and for all, and you and Lou Bosch start working with each other. Instead of again, Speaker 1 00:48:53 I don't think that's sort of how shit you can bury you with one day's work, but I'm willing to talk about it. Speaker 2 00:49:00 What if an Alliance with Austria is contingent upon the two of you working together, Speaker 1 00:49:09 They promises from someone who does have a guarantee on that throne. Yet Speaker 2 00:49:14 Small promises from someone who has both of your armies to back me up. When I decided it's time to take it Speaker 1 00:49:21 Came out to himself. He does drive a hard bargain. So I've been told, Speaker 2 00:49:27 Let me go talk to Lou Bosch. But I think we may be able to shake hands on this. Speaker 1 00:49:34 No, four, it Is not hard to find. He is hard to get close to because there are so many people around him, but you could squirm your way in there Speaker 2 00:49:48 This way in as close as he can. And just kind of leans in and says, so the boat made it out. Speaker 1 00:49:55 He is just granting at something. Someone else said he doesn't look directly at you, but like under his breath, as conversation continues, he says, good to hear. I have Bob and willing to play ball. Speaker 2 00:50:09 We're all able to sit down and come to a mutual agreement. The three of us, Speaker 1 00:50:14 He knobs himself. He says, if you think you've got a plan there, then I I'm always willing to have the conversation. How much have you heard about the Navy for Speaker 2 00:50:28 Your majesty? Speaker 1 00:50:29 I've heard that they've had a bit of trouble wrangling, pirates and area. That's about it. What about their presence Speaker 2 00:50:38 On the shores of vaudeville door? Speaker 1 00:50:42 I don't get much news about that as far South as I am, but Speaker 2 00:50:46 You have just as much to lose from a border incursion as anybody else does. Speaker 1 00:50:50 However, that is shaped Speaker 2 00:50:53 A three-way truce is what I am proposing you and King Rosebrook talk out, maybe renegotiating borders in terms of the tract of land, beyond the river and in exchange conditionally, as long as everything remains as we've all three agreed it, you have Australian Navy support in fending off any border incursions from foreign powers, Speaker 1 00:51:24 Rubber station, dirty 20. He laughs loudly claps you on the back and says, I like your attitude. We'll talk after the party. Good to hear. Leo goes and finds that little rock Eleanora. It's just getting out of a dance with Lou ASHA's oldest son. You get the feeling that she had a death with him a lot at these parties to cover up the fact that she doesn't want to dance with certain other people. He like leaves in a whisper, something to Eleanora and she laughs super loud and snacks on the shoulder. Do you mind if I cut it, he hit her inside or that you said not at all. Eleanor says, go get some punching medicine, sweeps her up into whatever dance is going on. Speaker 2 00:52:15 She grinds up the issue. You guys set that it go up. Unsettlingly that's a good thing. Isn't it? They certainly hope so. But actually the more I've been thinking about it, now that we're getting over this particular hurdle, I'm getting very close to having a majority of the council in my favor. And that's something that we're going to need to start considering pretty soon, right? I suppose we are. Well, I mean, it's just that you had mentioned being really interested in the Spire architecture of the history and palaces. And it seems that we're coming up on a time where I may be getting ready to go home soon. And if you wanted to make an extended trip to Australia to study the architecture, I absolutely wouldn't be opposed to hosting. You see that letting faculty grandeur Told you what four or five times now, Speaker 0 00:53:31 Eleanora grant Duke on your own land, is that you saying that you'll come there with me? And what about staying there? There's a lot to consider when going to these beta restaurants, whatever. There's a lot of complicated things to consider. Where is it written in stone that you can't be queen of instruments and aren't stretches of Australia 24 per cheats go very dark. She had that's her head. And she says, if you can figure out a way to make that happen, it's not in the last Speaker 2 00:54:35 Five years. I've found ways to make much tougher Speaker 0 00:54:38 Things happen. And then she reaches out and she kisses your cheek. And she says, I've had to see one dance. I'll see you later. Okay. And she rolls away. Speaker 2 00:54:54 We are just not grinning like a big old dope heads off the dance floor. Um, okay. I have kind of a random sounding question. If I burn both of my third level spell slots for the day on one sending smell. Can I do a 50 word sending smell rather than the 25 word? Yeah. Sure. Okay. Excellent. Um, Leo is going to try to excuse himself out onto a balcony where he can be by himself for a couple minutes and then burn both of his third level spell slots for the day to do a 50 word. Sending spell to Soren, walks up to the edge of the balcony. Puts a hand up to his Holy symbol. It starts glowing. Speaker 0 00:55:49 I know you don't want to talk. I understand. I'm sorry. I think I'm falling in love with someone else. I just don't know how to feel about that. I don't know how you'd feel. I understand if you don't want to talk. I just wish that at least let me go. Speaker 1 00:56:29 There is a long pause and no answer. Alright. Speaker 2 00:56:43 Going to talk to bobbin and Lou Bosch then because that's, what's on my agenda for the night. Speaker 1 00:56:50 Bothered gets you in the hall and says here, how about we have that discussion in my office? Gladly, you involve his office will be here in a minute, uh, help yourself to a seat. Some wine gladly Speaker 2 00:57:08 <inaudible> generous glass of wine. Speaker 1 00:57:13 He sells out his desk. He says, you know, I seen you do some impressive things since I've been here. I do my best. I haven't had much cause to see what you call it. Clerical magic, I suppose. Yes. At least Speaker 2 00:57:32 In terms of classification, I am a cleric of Kimra legally. It's a bit more complicated. Speaker 1 00:57:39 We don't have many of those here. You understand? We have priests obviously, but uh, not many people who can perform feats of magic like that. I'd say the closest we have is cache Dorn, but he's not really beholden to a God per se, bold of you Speaker 2 00:57:59 To assume that I'm beholden to anything. Speaker 1 00:58:04 You don't seem to be beholden to anything but your own interests. I'll decide to take that as a compliment. Your majesty, you should. You should. I admire someone who is look out for themselves about something you learned to admire when you've been in my position. As long as I have later on, I'd say with this advantage, would you believe that Speaker 2 00:58:31 One of those was in that 20, but I have disadvantage. Speaker 1 00:58:34 What's the other one. You start feeling really weird, like weird how you're sitting there at Bob and saying something and standing up from his desk. But you don't really process what he's saying. It's like, he's talking you through water. Can I roll insight on what's happening to me? Okay. You're not really processing the words being said at you. Your body is starting to feel really. You feel like you're moving really slowly. It's hard to move. It's harder. You Speaker 0 00:59:22 Are most definitely going unconscious. You can feel yourself. They spent both of my third bubbles fill slots. I can't even get a sending off to said, Oh my God, second level augury. Okay. So you have to tell me wheel Whoa or wheel and Whoa and house and bones. I'm going to get the bones out there. If I can. If I, if I have the motion left in my body, just barely. I think you can talk to you about like, you will lose these all green bonds. What's going to happen. If I run the bones, come up, we'll unwell. The fucking course, they do. Speaker 0 01:00:17 Leo makes a break for the hallway. As soon as he realizes that he's starting to go unconscious, you get up from your chair. You feel heavy and slow and you stagger towards the door. It's like three steps. You get the door open. I yell as loud as I possibly can. And from behind you, your awareness, it's kind of like fading in and out. You hear Bob and talking and you process these words. It's kind of been a lot easier. And then you feel a hard impact to the back of your head and you are out and that's it for us this week. Speaker 3 01:01:09 This nasty little man is going to buy mine own hand. Is he going to die? Speaker 0 01:01:25 That's it for us this week folks. <inaudible> Speaker 3 01:01:43 Hey, everybody Barry here with the postscript, just clearing up a couple of housekeeping things here at the end of the episode, as usual, we're going to go ahead and plug our social medias.
