Speaker 0 00:00:06 You know, whether you're <inaudible> Speaker 1 00:00:29 Oh, everybody and love them back to compel duel and I'm buried. And we are a single player, Cody and actual fifth edition D and D podcast. So last time on compelled duel for Val sign and the horrible, awful. No good, very bad day. Part two, you had a really, really bad time. She got caught in a teleportation accident. She met a really pretty Bard, but then got kidnapped. And it was not a good day for me the time before that. But Leah, Leah had a better time question, Mark flirting it up with rugged monk. That's done bloom and also princess Eleanor Ash thrown a vest or a small Frankl in that. Leo is trying to gather armed forces from the other Nobles up. Her top is up for dune, including Eleanor, his dad who hates his guts, got a little bit, Speaker 0 00:01:28 We find Leo, we'll say right after that council meeting, you are about two hours through your night meditation. It's about midnight after the band and fight and the conversation you had fell on or at the party, you know, everything. When you hear from right behind your shoulder, Leo screams, who's in my room. The Lord says, you know, we've talked about this. I transmit make it. And I feel really vulnerable when you do this shit. This is my room. What's do you want femoral says, yes. You told me this before. And then, you know what, you know, it's somebody that wasn't, you saved my bacon. So it all ended up coming out in the wash. But I did pretty okay. I mean, I don't know if you've been watching, but I kicked. So bandit asked today, thank you very much more praise than I've ever gotten from my father. Okay. Speaker 2 00:03:12 So what do I have to do? Sacrifice a goat again? It is the middle of the night. I might need some time to source it Speaker 0 00:03:19 Materials. Oh, sick Carol, like does kind of look it, but it's fingers. They clack horribly the bones in his fingers. He says Speaker 2 00:03:43 I've got like two avenues open to make some really interesting moves in the coming weeks. I like to keep my options Speaker 0 00:03:52 Just shrugs and grids. Probably not Speaker 2 00:04:06 From the other side of your room because he doesn't have his own <inaudible> Oh my God. Oh my God. No. Oh, what does Leo see? Stone blue that sits up from the floor. He's been sleeping. Half asleep, just had groggy hair done sticking up on one side. Leo gasps in this horrible death. Rattle of a breath eyes. Big as dinner plates. It just quietly starts whispering to himself. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no. Then he does the same kind of Ogilvy boogie gesture that Kimbrel did. He goes, Ooh, this is a dream. Go back to sleep and maybe find your own lodgings when you wake up. Speaker 2 00:05:15 Also nothing I said is to be, remember when you wake up, it was all pointless. I was going over my list. This is the worst day of Leo's life. And he's been there the whole time. He might've come back later, but like, well we, because yeah, I mean like Leo has this nighttime routine. He goes into his room, he gets naked. He takes us four hour transit. He gets up and does his shit, you know, maybe when he came back from the party, the room was dark or something and he just didn't think about it. Oh my gosh. So clarify for me, Zed just heard the Speaker 1 00:05:58 Fresh Prince of Australia. Talk to his God, writing two dates to the prom. And also he's in the buff, right? Oh yes. Leo is leaving the country right now. I mean, that was just woken up out of a dead sleep by that. Yes. He just tries for the Ogilvy book and he hit the kid. Have to go back to sleep, say check. Oh no, thank God. I don't want to know. I don't want to know that was a four then just kind of like pass asleep grind. You just cause, and then like laid back that he's good enough at faking being drunk that I don't fucking trust him, but okay. So on that note, um, I do have a couple of things I want to clear up before we timescale. Number one, I'm assuming Eleanor is going home. Eleanor things. Leo definitely starts writing to her. Speaker 1 00:06:45 Like just on a friendly level. I think they get like a pen pal thing going also if we're time skipping, how much of your time to there that month? It's about a month. Okay. I have a cool way to justify my feet that I'm taking. I took the forecaster feed, which for those of you at home who were curious, well, I have advantage on all constitution saving throws that I make to maintain my concentration of a spell. When I take damage, I could perform sematic opponents with spells, even when I have a weapon or shield in one or both hands. And now instead of doing a melee attack on opportunity attacks, I can cast a spell. So the way that I kind of want to justify that is after getting my shit rocked a couple of times, I would kind of like to, if Zetta sticking around, ask him to kind of help me with some brief flex training. Speaker 1 00:07:28 I think actually we think that a scene. Oh dope. Okay. There is not a wealth of trading rooms in this silver tree yet. Asshole Bertrand is an 85 year old man whose children don't talk to him anymore. He produced the necessary one heir to the throne and his son lives far away from the castle out in the city. If there is a training room, it has been repurposed for some other purpose. So I think that just takes you out on the fucking lawn. And then he says, okay, we're going to do basic refinances. So I'm going to keep, you had mastered your reflexes the way that I was stopped at the monastery. And then he just LOBs a rock right in your head. That's going to be a 23, which I assume. Yeah. Yeah. You don't take any damage. It's just blink. Oh, see that. Speaker 1 00:08:19 That's when you're supposed to like bang it out there. Well, hope so. I'm supposed to bat it out of the air. If you didn't tell me you were going to throw it, do you normally get warned before people shoot things at you? When I learned to fight and I learned swordplay, yes. I mean, that's how you engage with somebody in a fencing match. You know, you wait for the, Oh, this has no practical application in real life. Does it now? Not even a little bit. Well damn here. Catch 18. Does that also hit, Oh, come on. You're an adult. When I started having this done with me, I was four years old. You were raised by people who are rocks at children, natural 18 stop. That's how you do monk training. They're very small pebbles. I just wanted to emphasize that. Like yeah. Speaker 2 00:09:07 Yeah. He's annoyingly hitting me in the forehead with small pebbles. So I'm annoyingly going to cast a first little Ray of sickness out. Speaker 1 00:09:17 That's only tend to hit you try to gas. The racing sat in like three or Holy symbols and the heat. God is out of the way. I think actually he's going to like go down and then come back up and they can grapple check on him. I rolled a 15. Okay. You rolled a 10 Squadoosh okay. So he goes down and then he comes up and tries to grapple you and you kind of like elbow him in the chest. Drop the flippy. Oh, are we having a bar brawl now? Because I've got experience with those. You want to go, he laughs. He kind of rubs at where you all in. That goes nasty. Here's your problem. When you go to cast a spell on somebody, you broadcast with your entire stamps, what you're about to do you pass smells like somebody who is trying to stab someone else. And in my experience, that is not the best way to go around it. And also you shouldn't broadcast when you're trying to stab somebody, either Mr. Stone bloom. Speaker 2 00:10:09 Trust me. If I had any intention on stabbing, you, Speaker 1 00:10:11 You would know he raises eyebrows and he goes, Oh no, go ahead and throw another rock. Watch what happens. He's gonna put his hands up. He steps back and he goes, okay, I'll throw any more rocks you want to try to. And then he like puts his hands behind his head, arms up that you yep. Speaker 2 00:10:34 Gonna need Zehnder. Roll of DC. 14 constitution saving, throw Speaker 1 00:10:37 Fucking natural 15 fucking shit. Speaker 2 00:10:42 Okay. Leo tried to cast blindness deafness on it. Speaker 1 00:10:45 He's going to make it our cottage ag natural 80. So he knows that you tried to catch something on him. Hey, if you're going to achieve, then this is going to get nasty. I thought you said that Speaker 2 00:10:58 Formal training didn't have any practical application in the real world for not going to fight a little dirty. It what's the point of it. Speaker 1 00:11:04 Okay, fine. That's fair. And then he just puts his arms down process of over his chest. He says waiting. Oh no. See, now I'm getting a little nervous Speaker 2 00:11:16 Because I dunno you could have like sand in your pockets, which was something that I saw my friend Colossae due to somebody wants. And that guy had to go to the clerics and have like three days of healing spells done on his eyes. Cause he got an infection. You know, I think I may have come out a little strong with the whole fighting dirty thing. So maybe we could just go back to like the, the light rock. Speaker 1 00:11:34 True. He raises a why rather than very high on his forehead Speaker 2 00:11:39 Is that you cut a very intimidating figure Speaker 1 00:11:42 And you know, um, Speaker 2 00:11:46 And then while he's distracted, I tried to throw a rock at her. I'm going to hold it. I'm guessing it's plus X with the rock. Yes. Speaker 1 00:11:54 Am I proficient with the rock? I don't think no whammies, no way. I mean he's three. You throw it and it like Flinks off his ear and does nothing, I guess that was not the first time I've heard that. I generally think you're pretty impressive and combat situations, but that was, Speaker 2 00:12:16 I don't work for the gutter rocks Zed. I mean, you have me a little bit out of my element here. I asked for help for a goddamn reason not to show me how to Dodge a rock. Speaker 1 00:12:26 I would be showing you if you could hit me Speaker 2 00:12:29 Smart ass. I throw another rock at 16 plus my deck. So let's floor 30, 20. Speaker 1 00:12:38 So what that's going to do you fuck you. Speaker 2 00:12:43 Come on God. I hate mugs. I hate monks Speaker 1 00:12:47 Stupid. That's going to do that. He's going to deflect missiles. And then he's going to use a key point to do eight it's like Mrs. Attack said, he's gonna throw back at you. That's dirty money. Great. Yeah. So you throw this rock at him and it like almost hits him in the face. And then he brings one hand up and she like slaps it back and it hits you right in the nose. And then he says, all right. So, and then he goes behind you and puts a hand on your shoulder and then adjust your stance, adjust your shoulders, adjust your hips, and then goes. So what we're learning here, first of all, keep your staff square so you can move when you have to. Second of all, most people, if you're paying attention are going to broadcast broadcaster movements, at least a little bit like what you just did there, you shifted your staff to the side when you were going to throw. So I knew when to Dodge, the best thing you can do for yourself is, and then he nudges at one, your lips and I just used the side is keep your stance steady. So people can't do that. And so you can move what happened, Speaker 2 00:13:56 You know, I'd be having a lot more fun with this of my ego. And so bruised Leo says to the very fragile a little bit. Speaker 1 00:14:02 Well, that's the thing that that could be bruised. It's police damaging, but also the least fun. And Pat your shoulder, and then goes back to where he was at and goes throw again. At the end of that scene, we get to the end of the time, the next council meeting is held in the city of LA, which you may remember as the seat of the daunting for family. Fuck. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Yeah. Lauren's my dude. We got this. I imagine every council chamber, there's a slightly elevated seat for the host. So Warren is just sitting in this slightly elevated seat, just kicking his feet cause he's 10 and he's very small. Speaker 2 00:14:40 I sit down in the audience area and I flash war in Iraq. On-site Speaker 1 00:14:44 Warren beams and he doesn't wave. And then from beside his chair, his mom puts a hand on his hand. You can just like put the down there's Eleanora here. Have I seen her yet? Yes. As you go to sit down, you here Speaker 0 00:15:03 And then you see Eleanora from a higher riser waving. I wave and I wake at her. She makes a cup here. Motion. Okay. Yeah. Leo goes, he's dressed a little more conservatively, but he was for the meeting that Bertrand was hosting. So it was just got on like normal Australian ropes as you go to the data you don't think of that would have come with into the council chamber. I think he just kind of hangs. He found somewhere to go eat. Geez. Who needs politics? When you have Jesus, he is made the States for politics now. But as you sit down Eleanor at that word, it has to get my last letter. Speaker 0 00:15:46 I think they've just been kind of, you know, getting to know each other through like a pen pal lens, you know, however long it's been over a month, obviously. But yeah, I think the last thing we said to her in letters, I think he probably wrote her a really long letter describing the street area and was jury culture and architecture and stuff. Because it's stuff that nobody here knows about yet. She's not interested in your chips and the spires really interesting, but that's not. That's a conversation for later. I'm going to jump architecture. For instance, her she's go like a little dark with her gobbled heritage and with her human heritage leaning towards like darker skin. She doesn't have a whole lot of color expressing itself. When she lashes that hard, you can go a little dark. I might maybe I'm allowed to have hobbies. Speaker 0 00:16:35 Well, we have a word for you in Elvish. Leo says nerd in Elvish, our eyes go very narrow. That means respected master architect. It does not. Oh shit. You speak Elvish. No, but I know when people are saying something vaguely insulting, Leo says, you look very beautiful today in Elvish, don't get started, I'll start galaxy and you look it. And then she doesn't rattle off something about them. You can roll it inside check. But um, that's a dirty 20 actual thing. It seems like she's making a joke. I am a joke. It's fine. Yeah. Eleanora laughs. At whatever she said, she thinks she's hilarious. And she just said, you're more fun. I'll go. I think your father's going to separate us. So we don't shops. Speaker 1 00:17:34 Yeah. I believe it goes back to the seat. The meeting kind of wears on it. They don't even really bring up the issue of you in this one. They just kind of gloss over it disappointing. They bring it up really bobbin would say. And on the issue of the assurance grand Duke and then thing night NYPD act says further deliberation put the hand up and like shakes his head. I do give them a bit of a, an, a front of little look. They are not looking at it. Speaker 2 00:18:04 You add all your out in the rise pips. Can I sneak back up next to Eleanora? If they're not talking about me? I'm not frankly interested. Speaker 1 00:18:11 God. Yeah, sure. Okay. Fuck. Do you want me to roll for that? Yeah. Real still. Okay. I'm going to roll with that perception. I rolled a natural 19. That's a five Speaker 2 00:18:26 Natural 19. That's a 20 something. That's over 20. Oh yeah, of course. Yeah. I fucking pink Panther at up there next to Eleanora. And I sit down and I reach on the sleeves of my long bell sleeve to Elvin robes and produce a flask that I up Speaker 1 00:18:40 Eleanor up very, very quietly gasps to herself. And she is smiling super big. As she says, pasty, I have been called worse. Do you want the whiskey or do you not? Absolutely. And she takes a long swing and I think there'll Speaker 2 00:18:55 Be just like some claws back and forth. Speaker 1 00:18:57 Yeah. The meeting wears on for like a couple hours. I think near the end of it. Wilamena Don chaser is going to nudge Warren. So he like caps for attention. And then she is going to stand up next to him and say, and uh, on the issue of certain agitators in the area around block them, which I have asked versus since on again, after she says that Jasper shade stone is going to say, as we've said, your Royal Highness, we have not seen any evidence of any, uh, insurgencies in the area. If you are able to produce a credible eye witness accounts, credible, anything that we will, of course when our assistance to the <inaudible>, but until then, our hands are tied. We can't just Willy nilly send forces into the countryside and then we'll meet up purses or lifts. Uh, Roland Simon will mean a person who lives. Speaker 1 00:20:02 She looks pissed and she exhale through our nose. And then she sits back down and hands clenched on the arms of her own chair. And then you see where I lean over and say something to her, right? And he's obviously making a joke, you know, pep kids try to diffuse tension. And then she nod and then her posture relaxes and she just had some on the shoulder, the beading wears down and everybody starts to shuffle out, Eleanora, leans over and goes. So I was thinking we could go see if we could have some fun and lock them. Fi food scene is notorious. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:20:37 You had me at food scene. You'll also probably have Zed at food scene, but I, I want to go see if I can corner Wilhelmina. Just give me a minute. Oh, Speaker 1 00:20:48 You're corner angle ladies. Now you told me to get out and help people. The council is not helping Wilamena as you say, the council's not helping. Well, I mean a rule insight, 17, as you say that, Eleanor, she's still smiling, but like the partners, her mouth get really tight. She doesn't whence, but she looks like she's holding back a wince. I know you saw the same thing in there. I did. The council has to play by ironclad rules for a lot of reasons. The benefit to Mr. Stone, Blum and I is that we do not. And I'm still garnering the support that I need while also being able to help out the Don chasers in a way that maybe the council can't because of what King shade stone said, hands being tied, Eleanor a Warren's a kid you should know, just as well as I do. Speaker 1 00:21:41 How winces at that time say actually, he's a baby. You know how rough this is on him. He and I have established a pretty good rapport. Actually. He's a really great kid. If I like Warren too. And if I can do him a solid and also help myself out a little bit here, I mean, tell me if this is a bad idea, you have a better lay of the land than I do. I like Warren. I also know that if people are unhappy with something or ruler is doing it and get very bad, very fast, darling, I grew up in Australia. I'm very familiar with this. The winds as I progressed into a full flinch and she says, not as familiar as I am do what you want. Just don't get in deep trouble. Go find said, send me a messenger with the name of the bar and I'll come find you. Okay, absolutely. Sorry. Oh, if he can, without causing a social full pot, Leo would just like to give her arm a little squeeze before she goes. Cause I don't know. Speaker 2 00:22:44 She got really offended about him touching her last time. So she makes a face when he does. Speaker 1 00:22:50 Hey. Yeah. I'm going to go to try to catch Oren and Wilamena on the way out of the council chamber. They're heading off to where, you know what, there's a great hall and where food deserved between capital meetings. Boominess holding more on hand and he's like chattering about something. I just step in their path. Well, I mean, that makes kind of an offended face. Then Warren says, Leo, your majesties and Leo bows and all he's in the bow. He reaches out a fist for Warren to do a fist bump, Warren giggles that like bumps your fist that does this wobbly ten-year-old bow. I couldn't help it over here in the council meeting a little bit of disappointment on both of your parts. I just wanted to let you know that I have brought my associates from the order of the golden Tufts with me as a retainer. We're not like Speaker 2 00:23:41 I don't see anything wrong with this Wilamena races and I have Apple and it looks like she's trying Speaker 0 00:23:46 Not to laugh just a little bit. And all I'm saying is that there are a couple of different ways that we might be able to help you out in exchange for a little bit of good faith, observation 13. Well, I mean a dog chaser fidgets with her hands. Like she doesn't know quite where to put them and then takes one away from her warrants, holding it back. And it says, we're in honey, you go get some lunch. Okay. And okay. And like shrubs and just runs off down the hall. He does his Buffy. He like turns around as he's running and puts his hands up. And then it will let me not fondly smiling and watch them go down the hall. And she like leans back. And then she puts on her serious face and she says, I think someone is shy to assassinate. My son goes from that like smarmy political gameplay face to dead serious. It was second flat. Speaker 0 00:24:46 What do you mean? It's not a secret that Warren doesn't exactly make the most informed governmental decisions. He's a 10 year old, but aren't you the acting Regent? I do my best. There are other people that have young kids here and they have secrets that they don't like me. And don't think that be up, which to an extent I agree with, but that's not a political opinion. Queen region respectfully. That's a coup attempt. She, not that she says, in any case, I have my late husband, his younger brother has made no secret that he would prefer himself beyond the throne. And I'm starting to think that some people in our inner circle. Speaker 0 00:25:47 So you're telling me that Warren is dealing with people in his family being upset that the person in the rightful line of succession doesn't seem to have the most admirable qualities for the throne. That's what you're telling me. You put it that way. If that's what you're telling me to hate myself for saying what I'm going to say. I don't care if you give me an army or not. All of you out, you see a little bit of tension in her shoulders, relax. And she says, I've been through too much of this and Warren's a baby and he doesn't deserve it on that word, reading. It's just, it's, it's complicated it. What can I, Speaker 1 00:26:44 Or what can be muscle that I brought with me? Do I think what is the most harmful is that my brother-in-law is purporting himself as a man of people because he has been away for a while. He is putting on airs about being worldly and understanding about situations as if he wasn't born from money. And then it from the beginning sees my language. All I'm saying, I think he has significant support in the city. And that is what is worrying me because I think he would not be making the obvious moves on his own behalf. He would be getting other people to do the deep, just a little clarification. Are we putting out a hit on your brother-in-law? Do you want me to kill that guy? Because I will totally kill that guy for you. She personally looks again and then she grabbed you by the elbow with you down the hall. Speaker 1 00:27:39 And then she goes into a little like sitting room and closes the door behind you and says, if you can find him to take him out, I will absolutely cover it up. I have the utmost faith, if not in myself, that in my associates, I will say that much. I am a stranger in a strange land. However, I do serve a God of death and justice. And I'm pretty sure that this kind of thing would make him very happy, which might end up working out better. For me. She is not helping us. I, of course can't be implicated in anything that may happen. I would ask that you use discretion, but, and then her face goes very Stony and hard. And she says, I'm not opposed to getting my hands a little dirty then you and I are of one mind quicker. So yeah, for what it's worth, I know plenty of other people on the council have their doubts about my integrity and those are partially founded doubts. But if you want to check my investment in the matter, simply ask Warren about our friendship. At least he'll fill you in on all the relevant information he has at Lang all little buddy. Speaker 1 00:28:48 And then yeah, I think at that point, I'm going to go and try to find Eleanora and see if they have sent a word for me. Or maybe they're just out by themselves. No, I think Apellis courier comes up to you and vows deeply at the Grandy vessels, courier, he kind of like tilts his head. He doesn't name is Brian for the bachelor and it has sent you a message and then he has you up. He's a paper. So on the piece of paper, it says the brass bell and then a couple of street names and an XO XO Elanora Oh, there's an XO XO on it. Yes, there is Leo. It takes the paper texted inside his rooms and goes <inaudible>. Speaker 0 00:29:30 She took you to a very seedy Tavern and back and Irene the brass bell is surprisingly nice. The sign is really clever. It's like a little bell, like a shirt bell as the scourge of a dress with a woman like waving it's spelled bell, B E L L E O D. As you walk in, it's a very homey, warm Tavern. They've got a big hearth in the center of it. It's a very like lock them is town, the Tavern it's very warm and you can smell the rich spicy food as you walk in. Oh yeah. Yeah. It is fantastic. All the shares I'm really well stuffed. It's very more, very cozy. It is a little small. I am also I'm five, two. I'm a total. Speaker 0 00:30:20 It has very low ceiling, which is very cozy, but can get a little claustrophobic. Um, no or sad. I just realized yes, that it's kind of like hunched in a quarter, but he's not particularly super tall. He's like little over six feet. He is a big dude. He is Hutch against the table. Well, Eleanor just sits very fruitful. Yeah. Across the table from him in the move. And as you walk in, they both like raise a hand that absolutely smacks the ceiling. A little bit of dust falls on his head. And I go sit in the board room. Eleanor has the big grin. As you walk over, she has already gotten started drinking for the day. There's an empty glass in her elbow. And then she has a glass of meat on hand and she has, that are going to happen either. Ladder Leo just walks up. Speaker 0 00:31:14 I'm going to lean over the edge of the corner with him. Or he sits down and goes, the sticks were endlessly on, were passing. He was small plates. Yeah. I'm guessing and Ahrens that are like sitting next to each other. They're sitting across the table. Okay. He points at both of them. He goes, can I get the middle of this action and picks up his plate and like moves it over to where he wants to sit Eleanora, make eye contact. And then that goes, I would get up so skewed in. But uh, and then he gestures at the ceiling and on our side, absolutely understand. I know that she like scoots out and gestures for you. Yeah. I skewed it to the corner booth with my small plate. And then I Gorge myself on mozzarella sticks. It's like good food, a lot of cheese, a lot of Curry. Speaker 0 00:32:06 Wurst very Gracie bar food. It's fantastic. Leo tries to remain dignified over his enjoyment of this food, but he's very much enjoying it. And also, uh, waves down the nearest bartender and asks if they do have Australian wine in this establishment, it's fine. If they don't, can I get like eight more of these couriers, the waiters kind of nods and then waffles off to the kitchen. And then Eleanor says, I hope you're all going to pay for this. Just reaches down to his belt and pulls out a big sack of points and jingles them time for the jingles goes Bertrand's why do you care? And that puts it back on his belt. She says, fair enough that if she steals a mozzarella, stick off her plate and it just like twirls it like a Baton actually go. So how'd your top with that will be a dog case we got. Oh, so about that. I didn't do anything bad before. No. Before you got upset, I didn't do anything bad. It just turns out that the rabbit on this shit show, it goes very deep. I am trying to be smart about this. And I don't think that we should talk about how deep the rabbit hole goes here because barely the walls have ears. Speaker 0 00:33:17 Not so much spooky as equally to read you as much as an in-range. When you find out what's cheaper. She knows, she has understood, said, you're going to be in on this too, because you strike me as a man of morality. We all have character philosophy. It's okay. That stops in the middle of taking a bite of garlic bread goes. I mean, yeah, but I don't see it as a slot for unfortunate soul. She flips you off. I think Leo just laughs and goes for his fear and slams a couple more mozzarella sticks. So anyway, I mean, I can get us a room where we can talk for a little bit. If you guys want Leo just puts a finger because stop the same thing. And the peels is the way to steal food off your plate. There's a whole appetizer platter here, guys. I'm so hungry. I didn't get to stop at the buffet on the way out. And I would just really love to eat my Curry worsen mozzarella. If one of you touches my beer, it's on site. I've had enough for today. I'm going to go rent the room. If my beer is any lower than the topic of wagon. When I get back, I swear to God, both of you. On-site to be one, I'll take you outside in the app. Speaker 2 00:34:33 He goes the very friendly happening at the counter. Where are you up for a real. And then he's going to like, make us decide I at your table. And then he just makes a note in his letter. He says some, will that be a two singles or a king-size sorry question. I say Kimra willing. My good man. We will be using the bed. Leo turns around and walks off the guy at the counter. It looks like shit. His eyes get very wide as he turned her out. If you like opens his mouth and yeah, I just grabbed Speaker 0 00:35:08 The key whenever I'm able. And then go back to said melanoma, Speaker 2 00:35:11 All right, let's go nodding towards the stairs. Eleanora instantly out of her seat. Straightens her gloves. All right, here we go. And grabs up one last Curry where it's not the table. Oh, I'm taking the whole appetizer plate up. Don't get it twisted. No, no, no. I'm waiting for all my drinks and also the next appetizer plate to come. And then I'm taking it upstairs. They will fall asleep upstairs. As you drag a large dish of appetizer, Speaker 1 00:35:38 It's up the stairs. Other thing you go into the room just goes out and said, I don't want to that. And kind of bounces a little bit and get, okay. So talk. Um, wow. This is shit. So, uh, Warren's uncle is trying to kill him then. Like what Warren? Our little friend that rules the city, the ten-year-old yes. His late father's brother is making a grab for power and his mother can't get any evidence. I would assume because the man is keeping his hands out of the shit as it were. So Zed your skills with tracking down the kingpin of an operation could definitely be use here. Oren's my little dude. Okay. He's not allowed to die. So I'm going to do something about this, whether you two are in on it with me is totally up to you. That's going to hold up a hand. So you're telling me some mother fucker is trying to get power for politics by taking out a 10 year old, his ten-year-old nephew. Yes. Speaker 1 00:36:46 Gage. Right? He's like perhaps as far, I guess, obviously I'm helping, this is fucked up. I have an idea with this, but it Eleanora you. You're a little bit of a linchpin in what I'm thinking, as you turn to Alan, all right, roll into it again. That was a natural one, baby. You can't meet her face at all. There's something very complicated going on. And her expression, it is honorable and she like shuts down. As soon as she notices, she is like white knuckled on the mattress. Her claws have punctured the mattress and there's like feathers filling out. And I mean, I, I get that. This is a lot to ask, especially given our very brief history, but if you can run interference with the council long enough for set and I to get in and take care of this problem so that it doesn't come up at the next council meeting, she knows herself. Speaker 1 00:37:41 And then she goes, are you sure? It's just the uncle. He seems to be the pinnacle of the movement. Um, and she, like grandma says she has, there has been a lot of sedition in and around her dad since the one there've been a lot of people trying to unseat the city monarchs, some justified some less. So I don't agree with methods. I think there is a growing pressure that you would be wise to consider. I'm not super acquainted with what's going on or I block them. I will say if there is a lot of anger that is justified against Warren, then the best course of action might be to smuggle in out of the city and let the chips fall where they may. That's a very decisive statement. I think that a possible alternative to what you're saying is if we smuggle him out and let the chips fall, where they may, the entire delicate balance of what has been built between the city States, since the war has the potential to completely fall apart. Speaker 1 00:38:51 If it is the United and suffered principalities of Purdue, and if one principality falls to chaos, it could undo everything that all of those people died for. She doesn't win for that. She does. If the leadership is not competent and I love Warren, he's 10, he's not competent leadership. If there is not someone responsible steering the ship. And if there's not someone who is looking out for the people, then it is going to go down one way or another. And I would prefer it go down the way that doesn't get a 10 year old killed. She makes direct back on it with each this I've seen this. I think the, perhaps the, what we want here is a compromise, maybe Zen and I do a little more digging and we really find out what's going on. Meanwhile, I write a note to Philomena. I send you back with it. Speaker 1 00:39:42 You get more and out of the city in case shit breaks bad. I think we're all agreeing here that Warren needs to not get killed is the ultimate outcome of this. Aye. I'm starting to feel like I maybe didn't get the entire picture of what's happening here. So before we kill this dudes at it, I know we both want to super bad right now. And we all countries, this Fest really hard. You could like heres that grinding his teeth as he nods. I think maybe that it would behoove us to try to get a more comprehensive look at the political landscape of lock-in and figure out what's going down. And all three of us proceed forward with the interests of this ten-year-old that we all know in like not getting murdered as our top interest and our notches on that word. So, all right, Eleanora, all, all right. Speaker 1 00:40:36 The missile field goes back to the palace, Zed. You and I will set off figure out what's going on. And hopefully we will all convene with this whole entire thing. Solved. Eleanor, do you have a place to take him? She like, let's say, she's thinking for a second. You guys, we have the room here. Yeah. I could hide him here for at least the night. If things go badly, he'll need to be outside the city. Of course. Yes. And my father did obviously take the Royal chariot here. If all else fails, I can stash it in the back. Either. Take it back to Esther mother. I'm sure that if you were to take it back to IRA, Bertrand would invoke anything necessary. Any of you to want to, uh, tie one last shot on before we do this and just cramps the rest of the appetizer plate in his mouth that Eleanor, I had a passenger I'm there because I'm good. Speaker 1 00:41:30 I'm going to, yeah. If you could write that message to her. I mean, just beyond that, Leo pulls out his stuff and writes down, please sign Warren's care over to the custody of princess Ashburn. She is going to keep him safe while I handle what we talked about in those words, specifically 22. Okay, sure. Um, yeah. Shall head off that is that it's going to slam that to the drink and then not there's that good? So let's plan bus. So don't call me that. It makes me feel like I have way more responsibility over this than I actually do. All right. So at least as far as Warren's mother is concerned and she knows the man involved much better than either of us do his uncle blocks him dead. His uncle is also the person with the next claim to the throat, which when you're playing political games, you feel a little bit like I'm training you now. Speaker 1 00:42:30 He says, yeah, that last thing is, uh, this is another one of those not practical skills for me. Well, it's extremely practical for me and it's why I'm still alive. So when you were playing political games, what you want to do is you always want to look at the next person down. The ladder who stands to gain the most power is the wrong above it or to snap, which paints Warren's uncle as a little bit of a red flag, you know, Oren and his mother die. This man in his line forever after take over the city. That makes sense. So, no matter what, this man stands to gain quite a bit from the death of his nephew, whether he's directly involved or not. And the fact that he is not explicitly stepped forward in support of said, nephew is politically damning evidence. The motherfucker needs to die. Speaker 1 00:43:29 No matter what I think we're agreed on that. Personally, my opinion, anyone who is involved in this, if they're applying to take out a ten-year-old at bat to bastard move, there's no coming back from that. All right. So as a bounty Hunter, I value your professional opinion. What do we do first? Do we hunt down the guys goons? Or do we go straight to the kingpin? Well, he like rolled his shoulders back. Does not bliss. I mean, you have to figure a guy sat in line, but that'd be pretty visible, right? Visible enough for sure. He's probably laundering finances and incidence at this point, things have a big fancy house somewhere. Mr. Stone bloom. Are you suggesting that we break it after he like grins will be the first time we really have to go have dinner and talk sometime AF planning, diem. Okay. So big house. Speaker 1 00:44:26 We figure out where that is except, well, I mean, how bad than idea would it be politically if we beat the shit out of the guy, like as an intimidation tactic more as I just want to beat the shit, the guy, Oh, I also want to beat the shit out of the guy. It seems that what the queen region needs is credible testimony or credible evidence that assassinations attempts have occurred on her son. People talk when they're getting punched in the face said, honey, I also have a magical Godspell that lets me make people tell the truth. Huh? Yeah. What Speaker 2 00:45:04 And I cast zona truth is that's going to have to roll a DC 14 charisma, saving Thoreau, buddy charisma, saving for a bait. Okay. Now, now, so he's Speaker 1 00:45:15 Affected by the zone of truth. Oh. And I believe as the Castro, Leo knows when people have failed their savings. Right. I think you also have to make a sale if you're building the radius. Oh shit. Oh shit. This is bad. Um, how is the room that we're in bigger than 15 feet across? Probably not buddy. Speaker 2 00:45:38 Okay. So that means that I also have to roll a charisma, saving, throw through Hopi within the zone of truth. Fuck bro. I don't do it. I don't do it. I don't do it. And I are both in the zone at true. Speaker 1 00:45:53 Am I supposed to feel anything? We won't feel like anything until you try to lie. We assess trying very hard to do half-truths to cover up the fact that he is also affected by the smell. Okay. I mean, I don't lie. And then he like makes a face. Speaker 2 00:46:08 Did you see me naked? When the bone God came to me? Yes. Speaker 1 00:46:12 And he like put the hand, there is enough. Leo just points like the Spiderman meme. That is both handovers. Now. What did you, Speaker 2 00:46:21 Do you think about that conversation? Everything you heard, what did you think about it? Speaker 1 00:46:25 I think you're, God's really fucking weird. Agreed. I think he looks like he's. He is where it's very carefully. That it was interesting. Did you, what did you want me to think about it? No. Speaker 2 00:46:43 <inaudible> Speaker 1 00:46:47 I wanted you to not be there for it. Understood. Did Speaker 2 00:46:57 Incident change our professional related? Speaker 1 00:47:02 He pauses and he says, I am very good at remaining professional. I am not. No. And then Leo classes, both hands over his mouth and goes, so what are the vibes you're getting here then just shakes his head. No, that's fair Speaker 2 00:47:23 Because I have a lot that I haven't considered up to this point. You know, I have a lot of shit going on in my life. And Leo just starts because he's under Speaker 1 00:47:30 The effect of the zone, a Truman. He can't really stop himself. You know, the last five years of my life had been a real mind, fucking like, you know, the whole, all of my life before, that was also a mind fuck. But like, you know, at least in that perspective of my life, I had stable support and maybe a life lead on front of you. But then, you know, all of them went out the window and then there's just all of these really attractive people saying a lot of things to be all the time. And I don't really process like half of them because my brain <inaudible> puts the other hand over here. Speaker 1 00:48:12 And then very carefully says, I try not to mix business and pleasure because that has broken bad for me before that I didn't catch that. I'm going to take my hands off your mouth. Now let's go. We go Zen going to like very confidently, move down a street. And then he's going to say, so usually my first step, if someone has a recorded address, it's not common in my line of work. But uh, usually the first step is to go to a records on this. He grabs somebody on the street and he says, Hey dear, where's the biggest church around. He like stopped this old halfling lady. And he says, I'm so sorry to bother you. Ma'am I just need to. And he grimaces, cause he's still under affects of the truth. I need to talk to a priest. And then this little old happened that he goes, Oh, of course three streets, less words. There's decentral chapel to a <inaudible> in the city. What do you say, Mr. Stone, boom. You want to go to church with me? Like I have. So, and then he just smiles real big of this old lady. He said, thank you so much. And then she does not. She doesn't. Oh, well of course I'll go to halfway church. Speaker 0 00:49:45 You find the building almost immediately is just huge solid door. Stone walls, no windows, but there's like jockey music coming out. And a lot of people singing yeah. Said opens the door and then he says, you got, it's a really nice chapel. There's <inaudible>, it's really weird. It's really nice. It is absolutely not something that we recognize as a church that he had not been told that religiously and like being a cleric. I have no idea what to do here. So I'm just going to sit down. Yeah. Surface winds on and then we'll seals and weights. And Speaker 1 00:50:28 Then it comes to clothes and people start to file out once the church clergy that it's going to get to his feet. And again, he has like kind of slump. It's not a big Billy. And he just kind of goes across the room and he says, hi, could I trouble you for a little bit of information? Just local up record keeping. And then the priest just says, what sort of a wreck? Sorry, are you looking for something that just smiles? And he goes, I don't know if you would keep it here, but uh, America records and property holding records of anyone involved with the church or if you could direct me to where I would be able to find those. Well, of course we have, uh, marriage records up at stairs, ended up. That is not the business. Oh, of course. Yes. And then I believe my commandment here, Lord outside grand Duke grand Duke. I'll say I'm very sorry. I believe he had some questions about how you run things around here. Leo just steps forward. Very big winning political smile. Once you tee them all. We're like stealth advantage. So is that all that we're still still just like, yeah. Speaker 1 00:51:43 I've had no experience with the predominant religions in toward, and I only know of my own country's faith that would be enchanted to learn about your own religious practices. If you would allow me, Oh, uh, even like to talk about ethnicity there's of course any religious tracks that you could maybe loan me would be wonderfully appreciated. I make my home in Irene. I would be able to send them back to your library eventually. Of course. Well, we don't really write down a lot of things in our church typically, but I could probably get you a piece of texts writing down a local version of the legend and he rustles around at this podium. I want to roll a religion check. It's very broad. I want to know, like as a cleric and as a priest, how much I know about like religious practices and towards you and how they connect. Speaker 1 00:52:33 Yeah, go ahead and roll that religion check. I am going to ask you to roll with this advantage because Leah doesn't know Jack objection. My disadvantage is still a 14, a lot way. Leah doesn't know a whole lot. Leo knows historically tore dune is kind of a mixed bag. Culturally. It's a very large expansive land and there's a lot of different people groups all coming in. The majority of the population is human halfling goblin work. So like there's been a lot of cultural blending, but it's a lot of disparate tribes of all of those people, groups that just kind of got smushed together into this country. So there's a lot of differences in religious practice. I wouldn't think we would know anything less, a single verus first of all, because they hadn't left the castle much. And second of all, because Iris has a large human population and version is not particularly religious. I don't think anyway, comparing and contrasting the church of Kimra is very into ritual and into circumstance, into very regimented traditions. That is not what you saw in the church. And that is not something you think would fit with what you've seen of people introducing and how they approach religion. Proleo that's really weird. Jealous. Speaker 0 00:53:50 I really like difficult interrupts at Speaker 1 00:53:52 Around. And also you do notice the statues at back of the church and the hearth. That is not anything that looks like a Cherian in church. I don't think there are physical representations of cameral. It's just sort of his symbol and there would never be anything like a horse and a church of camera. It is all very like stained glass metal, crystals, skulls hanging from the rafters. It's not made to feel like it's made to feel like an important place. This church seems like it's meant to be comforting, which does not fit with Leo's vision of what religion has been for him for his entire life. Speaker 0 00:54:31 Really interesting. Okay. Yeah. I mean, I feel like I've already keep these people occupied for as long as I can. Um, to a degree, Leo was really interested in it, especially because he was not particularly religious before he had to pick up a cleric. Speaker 1 00:54:45 Yeah. If Liam was chatting with his old priest, I think what you can note down isn't as this is sort of harvest, he is mostly straight to and famines because he is known to provide for the people that worship him when things are in dire straights. Yes. This is very concerned with like home and health and comfort and very concerned with making sure people are provided for the verus is primarily involved with storytelling. You hear her referred to as the Lord keeper led the songs, stuff like that. She is mainly concerned with the keeping of the history of this particular, subset of the half of the people. Like she's very concerned with making sure that they don't lose their past so that they can keep the future. Right. Yeah. I think as you're having this conversation with the priest, Zach comes back in and just like touched you all about this. Well, I do believe we have to be getting a back to the room. Oh Speaker 0 00:55:48 Yes. Um, I think Leo actually has been taking notes through all of this. Yeah. He's been super fascinated by it. Well, I mean, as somebody who has had no like deeply personal connection to his own religion, it's been really cool for him to learn about this stuff. So yeah. I feel like he has definitely written a lot of it down and taken like any texts that these people have given him just as like research. Speaker 1 00:56:12 Yeah. Like the space has a plan to use a lot of his oral tradition. There's not a lot written down, but what there is, he will give to you. Dope. Okay. Yeah. Cool. Yeah. Speaker 0 00:56:20 Everything I can get out of here. And then I'll go to said, Speaker 1 00:56:24 As you leave the church and said things, then it goes, okay, so I have a couple addresses. It seems like the fancy man has multiple houses because of fucking course. He does wait. This is a weird people who have more than one house. Yes. It's weird to have more than one house. I have zero houses. I mean, you have a house, you have my room at the powerless. And I think if we talked to Bertrand, we could get you your room. I would love it if we did that because I have a very particular preference to how I like to do my trances. And now I know that you know this, so like maybe we should Parkway. He does Ray that I ride, Oh, you don't want to share a room with me. You don't want to buck together. Leah Mizuno truth expired longer ago. Speaker 1 00:57:15 My friend, sorry. I'm used to sleeping in the same room with other people. Bertrand is definitely going to not want to talk to me about this when we get back. So, and for some reason you ended up in a dining room here. I don't know what that is. All. I will keep myself decent while I trans and you will never discuss what happened last month. Again, with anyone ever, especially not Eleanora, that's the problem. So I can make fair enough and you way. And then he like pulled out some papers and he points at a couple of lines and he goes, yep. Chardan and Don, Chaster this address and this address and this address, I would like to use my position of privilege, which is my double feature on this, which is that I understand the workings of Nobles in any city. I would like to hold a, see if I can figure out where this man actually lives. Would that be history? Track natural. 1925. Speaker 0 00:58:24 Okay. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:58:29 25. Um, where does this man live? I've never been here before in my life. You noticed some street names near the palace and you recognize one of them. You can assume that the man's main residence is close to Dallas. I'm going to look down at the papers that says presenting to me and just point to that address, huh? Figure that I'm just loving the paper. I know the street name. This is where he is. And then he's like, okay, I'll follow your lead on this one. Lead the way grant to Duke. Yeah. So we go, okay. Yeah. He is a grants for all. And uh, States, he is garage. There's like topiary shapes, swans and shit too. It's disgusting. It is not, I would not recommend breaking in now. I'm going to try to chase the joy and then consult with said, okay, just cause I feel like I maybe have better investigation than said does and intelligence. Speaker 1 00:59:37 I got a plus four, so we're good. Yeah, go ahead. And all of that allegation 21, it's pretty well guarded. You see that the uniforms of the guards are not the city guard. He has contract private guards and seems like a lot of that. Okay, great. It seems doable, but there are a lot of private guards walking around. After I do this case job, I'm gonna go try to grab, set and like pull them around a corner to talk. Okay. So I have ideas that whole truth thing that I very unadvisable. He did back there at the bar. I remember. Yeah. I remember the truth thing I used to. I think I will always remember it any way I can do that again. Like three more times. If this guy proves to be a little magically tricky, I think that if we can get in and get him and get a confession, we can solve this whole thing in the eyes of the castle. Speaker 1 01:00:37 We won't have to put this guy down because the council will do it for us. Interesting. So we figure out what's happening here. We get information, hopefully extracted in a way that is legally tenable. Do you know what legally tenable information extraction and titles? Zed. No. I've never had much of a problem with the whole punch people until they tell me stuff. Method. Let me do my magic thing first. And then if that doesn't happen, then you can take over with the more, um, fiscal manifestation of things. Oh, you got me a physical stop. Anyway, let me take point. And if my plan falls short, your plan takes over. Yes. Yeah. Everybody gets the same end result. Cool. All right. So then we, wait, we wait. So you have to wait a few hours and then once you're past 16, you're right. It actually didn't, you didn't see that. And then you make the guards night falls and then you hear a shrill piercing scream in the house. Oh, I run in no matter what the fuck said, does I kick in the door? We're all siloed this event. Well, my lowest is 16. And with my stealth, that's a dirty 20 Speaker 0 01:02:20 That we'll do that for a second that you managed to get through a hole in like the garden. And he managed to get in a window, not being super subtle. And he breaks a window with his elbow. You go in your upstairs, the only room, his leg in, it said like a door and a half. And one with like both her hands over her mouth, standing in the middle of this room. You see an open window and flapping curtains and a corpse in the big fluffy and King size bed. And that's where we're at for the week. <inaudible> Speaker 1 01:03:35 Hey, everybody Barry here with the postscript, just clearing up a couple housekeeping things at the end of the episode.
